Right now I just have something that isn't very expensive and has been stable. I don't have a lot of traffic though. Given the move towards "cloud" computing (i.e. marketing speak for grid computing) and the increasing use of virtualization I don't know that a dedicated linux box is really needed these days. I would suggest searching Google for "dedicated linux hosting comparison" - http://www.google.com/search?hl=&cat=&meta=&num=&ie=utf-8&q=dedicated+linux+hosting+comparison.
